Requirements Undergraduate degree with course work in computer science, business, engineering or tech-related subjects AND 5 years system testing experience required. Extensive knowledge of HIPAA and BCBSNC specific EDI environment and applications required. Industry based knowledge of NPI, PHR, related Health Information Technology required.
Additional Critical Skills & Knowledge Needed for Job Graduate degree preferred.
Excellent analytical, research, problem solving and oral and written communication skills necessary. Commitment to excellent customer service. Excellent facilitation skills necessary. Proven ability to manage own work and meet deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work in cross-functional project teams. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding terminology, and claims processing systems. Above-average mathematical or statistical aptitude. Ability to utilize system tools to perform specific job functions within 6 months of hire. Excellent PC skills (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and Access). Proven ability to work independently. One to three years experience in a BCBSNC Commercial Operations business area preferred. Ability to use automated tools to perform detailed analysis and reporting preferred. Ability to read, interpret and apply technical specifications preferred. Knowledge of multiple systems (LRSP, MHS, IPD, Formware, ITS, etc.) preferred. Ability to lead cross functional project teams preferred. 5 to 7 years experience as a Business Analyst/Project Coordinator preferred.
